Acting up! is an event every Monday at Tanghui where actors and pretty much anyone interested in acting can meet like minded people.
If you wanted to laugh yourself out of your seat, you should be very sorry if you missed out on yesterday's event! The audience was in stiches, because the show was an improv game-show along the lines of "Who's Line is it Anyway?" The four contestants, Rob Tromp, Matthew Bloomsfield, Chris Lee and Dave Philips were master performers in the various improv games.
Playing a series of improv games, the four managed to go from the wacky
to the absurd, all the while causing an almosat incessant stream of
laughter from the guests.
Who's Line is in Anyway- Shanghai style will now become a regular
fixture at the Acting up event, on the 3rd Monday of every month. The
SAA promotes Monday nights as a night for actors to be free of any
limitations.
Previous nights, we have seen castings, mini-improv sessions and even
talent agents scouting for new talent. If you want to do anything, a
show, a song, shadow puppets, getting everyone in the bar to do "the
wave", or anything else, just contact us and we will set you up.
Otherwise, just come on down sometimes and join the fun!
