Every time, the stand up comedy at the Acting Up! Stand up Comedy night gets better! This time we had a couple of surprise stand up comics, though all of them were hilarious! Afterwards we had great bout of spontaneous improv comedy!
This time the comics were:
Marieke van Buytene
Trevor (with a mysteriously difficult last name)
Rob Tromp
Dave Phillips
Also, for the improv we had:
Marieke van Buytene
Rob Tromp
Dave Phillips
Chris Lee
Below is yet another gallery of the hijinks that we get up to on the stage at Tanghui...

We regret to inform the acting community that the planned SAA seminar has been cancelled.
Mark Aaron, one of our key speakers had an unavoidable schedule change and was called back to Hollywood for a reshoot on his latest movie. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We will be doing other seminars in the future, and will be sure to inform you all when we do!
We thank the all the 20+ people that registered for this seminar, and hope we can provide you with an even better seminar in the future.
In the meantime, we still host Monday night events at Tanghui bar, free for anyone who is interested. Every monday we have a different theme. This coming Monday we have an improv show in the style of "Whose Line is it Anyway?". Come down and meet up with other actors, agents, and lots of other friendly people.
Here are some photos of previous weeks:

The SAA is hosting it's first seminar this August 27th. This event
will be for anybody that is interested in improving their acting skills,
learning about the trade, and also learning about the scene in
Shanghai.
Our key speaker, coming in from Los Angeles just off the set
of his latest movie "Richochet", is an established Hollywood actor and acting
coach, Mark Aaron. He will delve into his experiences in the
acting world and different styles of acting and
coaching.
Another key speaker will be Robert Vicencio, a
product of success from the West End, being in both film and TV, but most noted
for his work in musical theater such as Miss Saigon and Jesus Christ Superstar.
He also is responsible for the Musical Theater workshop here in
Shanghai.
New York actress Christy Shapiro will also tell
of her story as a career actress trying to make it in Shanghai. We will also
have a brief talk by Los Angeles actor and producer Drago
Lazetich.
If there is enough Chinese interest, we will have
translators on hand at the event.
