Acting up! is an event every Monday at Tanghui where actors and pretty much anyone interested in acting can meet like minded people.
If you wanted to laugh yourself out of your seat, you should be very sorry if you missed out on yesterday's event! The audience was in stiches, because the show was an improv game-show along the lines of "Who's Line is it Anyway?" The four contestants, Rob Tromp, Matthew Bloomsfield, Chris Lee and Dave Philips were master performers in the various improv games.

Calling all playwrites, directors, or actors, or anyone who wishes
to see a work come to life on stage!!!
Shanghai's East West Theater Company is planning its
schedule for the remainder of this year and the completion of its first season.
Formal performances will be considered for the seasonal program. Informal or
experimental works will be scheduled between seasonal performances. The next
performance is scheduled for late August/early September, as an informal or
experimental show.
The EWTC commitee is accepting original or published scripts. Published
scripts must have a copy of the rights or permission for consideration.
** Deadline for informal or experimental works is Wednesday, June
21

Shanghai 6.2 will
give a RMB 10,000 prize to the winner.
Different sponsors will give away many prizes for those who attend the
Awards Ceremony. There are three
requirements that you have to include in your film, which you will be given
after you have signed up.

participants in other cities of China.
Recruiting will be held in
Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Taipei, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen and
Wenzhou. However, filmmakers from all
over China can participate.
But, this is not all: we are going global, baby! We're welcoming filmmakers from New Zealand,
Germany, Colombia, USA, and Holland, where our global contacts will be taking
care of signing up and collection of the films.
