For those of you still around, we are sorry to say that the SAA is closing it's doors. After starting from a small group of frustrated foreign actors way back in the summer of 2005, SAA membership has ebbed and flowed as new people join, old people leave this Chinaland.
In the end, SAA and it's team are moving on to bigger and better things, and we cannot support such a community site anymore, but for those of you still looking for acting information you can check out the following links:

For aspiring actors and other talent:
Constellation Talent Agency is specialized in representing foreign talent in China.
From this point forward the SAA site will be frozen, memberships and and new data not accepted.

Calling all actors, comedians, musicians, dancers… creatives of Shanghai! Join us as we celebrate community arts and theatre in an Off-Vaudeville style Variety Show!
This is your chance to bring a new idea to the stage or to contribute something that your community deserves to see again! A One Act Play, a Monologue, A song, a Comedy Act, a sleight-of-hand trick, an Impersonation, Interpretation, an Audience Participation Game, a Talk Show, a Can-Can, an Alien Abduction… The sky’s the limit!
The audience will be the judge for you to win an excellent prize!
This is a fundraiser for the budding Zuloo Productions as we aim to support you in your creative endeavors by offering a unique variety of performing arts labs, community theatre productions, and workshops.

Thanks to everyone that came out at last Starlink night, we had a great time! Between Improv, stand up comedy, beer and Unicorn, the night was full of... um... something that can fill a night.

James Taris- Zero Budget Films
Zero-Budget Films is a film production group dedicated to offering acting and production opportunities to Shanghai locals and sharing profits (if any) according to each individual's input in each independent film project. Z-BF aims to produce 2-4 feature-length films (including musicals) per year. Screenplay writers, and songwriters, living outside of Shanghai can also participate in pre-production: screenplay writing, screenplay editing, song lyrics, music composition, and/or being part of the creative team.
